Glock 30 45 Acp Review - Say hello to the new Glock 30SF pistol. Introduced at the 2008 SHOT Show, the new striker-fired pistol features a polymer short frame for improved concealment and ease of shooting.
Chambered in .45 ACP, this rifle is sure to be popular with loyal fans looking for an incongruous and lightweight rifle.

Based on the original Model 30, the SF was a narrow double-barreled pistol for the legendary John Moses Browning printer cartridge.
Glock G30 Gen4 Vs Smith & Wesson M&p 45 Shield M2.0 Size Comparison
This version of the pistol has about 3mm shaved from the back to increase the overall size of the pistol. It fits the human hand better than the great-looking grip on the standard Glock 30.
While 3mm may not sound like much, trust me - you can feel the difference in your hands. The gun feels great to me and I'm able to get my finger in the sweet spot on the trigger. I love so much.
This pistol has proprietary Glock rails (not Picatinny rails). Fortunately, the popularity of Glock pistols made the company inclined to equip them with this non-standard attachment system.
Need to know that this gun has a magazine release and only the standard left side. The Glock 21SF introduces unrivaled security, but this model isn't ambidextrous. This can be an important detail for left-handed shooters.
The Glock 30s For Concealed Carry
Glock suggests that pricing will be in line with their other models, and they expect to start shipping these guns to dealers by mid-year.
I hope this becomes a popular weapon, but time will tell. Glock hinted that the pistol would become a favorite of plainclothes police and security forces in the United States. While that may be true, I predict that many, if not more, people would prefer this gun to a legal stash.
As of June 2021, the 30SF pistol is only available as a Gen3 pistol. Glock did not share any information that would lead me to believe that there was any intent to install this version of the pistol. Trim to Gen4 or Gen5.
Also, Glock doesn't seem to have readily available optical models. With red dot sights on pistols like the Glock 43X, I hope to see a MOS version of this pistol in the future.
What Makes The Glock 30sf Special (or Why You Might Hate It)
After the 30SF came out, some shooters discovered that you could use the frame with a G36 pistol slide. The result is a thinner and lighter pistol that retains the features of the G30SF.
Lighter and thinner are two descriptions that many in the self defense market are looking for. Hence the popularity of small firearms such as the 9mm Glock 43.
When modifications stuck in the shooting world, Glock took notice. In response, the company released the 30S.
G30S is composed of G30SF frame and G36 carriage. This pistol seems to be more popular than the original 30SF.
Pat Cascio's Product Review: Glock 30 Pistol
Richard Johnson was an amateur gun writer, historian, and most importantly - a father. He's done a lot of crazy things in his life, but quitting his job as a police officer to pursue his passion for writing about guns is the smartest thing he's ever done. He created the site and continues to manage its operations. In my opinion, the Glock 30's are unmatched in the way they are designed. It comes with a nice concealer, and the larger grip not only provides room for more ammo, but also helps with controlled return. This is a great option.
I have a big but 30S arm with Pearce handles that fit great and provide ultimate power in a small frame! ! ! ! I love so much!
I fired a few glocks from the "Baby Glock" (9mm G-26) to bigger glocks with bigger frames, and I found the .45 Cal G30S. Fits my hand size. Sometimes I use the Glock shotgun glove, the combination of the glove and the gun makes shooting comfortable. The recoil is normal Glock gloves, and Glock gloves just make shooting fun. The only accessories I make for the 30S are practical/functional. I upgraded to the 13th round magazine for more power. Added night vision reduces draw for a smoother gun. Some accessories are just glitzy glitz and not worth the money. Best to discuss with your shooter what is good and what is bad. My blacksmith is a Glock, started to finish, and so far the transition is in progress. The G30S is a good stealth weapon, it has 0.45 strength against people and is just a good defense.
I was a fool at first, but this is my favorite Glock. My daily pickup is to hand over my Glock 30s. Easily carry it all day and forget I'm holding it. Shooting comfortably, my Gen4 G27 is my carrier of choice, but is now my second choice. I love my Glock 30S!
I Found This Old Glock Review Of A 30 Year Old Glock 21
This gun is an excellent choice for everyday use. It's small but well balanced. I'm a 6ft 5in guy of average build. It's easy to conceal, it fits in my big hands, but my wife and mom can easily handle this gun. It skips a bit, but there are some training sessions. you will die. all the time. I can score 4 goals as a team with this gun in my 50's. It's reliable and well made. I was never interrupted or stuck. I've gone through over 5,000 rounds in each gun. Type: cheap steel case and high quality brass round I once dropped in mud and covered it with mud, then sprayed it with bulldozer scissors no problem. I've never left home without a Glock. Trust it to protect my family and community 24/7. I highly recommend taking 30 seconds a day!
This gun with the right hand holster will not print. You'd think there would be problems due to double printing, but take my word for it. It is not.
I am very happy with you! I had her a few years ago and decided on 30 because I always had small arms. This is small enough to fit me perfectly, but still has 0.45 cal of power. I highly recommend it to anyone - small hands, normal hands or large hands. :)
I have owned 2-30S .45 caliber Glocks for the past 10 years and absolutely love both. In times of weakness, I allowed myself to be traded from the start. But I missed it so much that I bought another one. Like the first pistol, it's reliable and probably the most accurate I've ever used. Granted, I spent over 9 million on 45 cal Ammo, but the extra fun was worth it. BTW, despite the old myths, 0.45 recoil is manageable even for my 70+ year old arm on rapid fire. Even at my age, I can still make a 2" stretch at 25 feet. If you can lease one in your range, do so at your own risk, because if you can find a "previous owner," you could spend well over $550 as a new owner, or $375 to $400 for a used 30S.
Thoughts On Glock 30s?
I used to have a Glock 19, now I have a 30. It's heavier, but when used with my IWB holster, it's a powerful and easy to carry weapon. I put in a 19 lb spring/stainless steel guide. It does control the rotation. It is the most accurate, 230 grains, 115 grains, 9mm. Watch out for bad guys. When I first picked up a Glock 30 a few years ago, it was like holding a potato. Grip all over my hand, it seems
Compared to other pistols I've held in my hand. Not bad, just better than most. I love it so much that I bought one after only a few months.
Full Demo: Most of the pistols I review are new to me and my reviews are all about first impressions. This is not the case. I owned the original G30 before the 30S was released, and in 2014 I sold my G30 and got the G30S. It is lighter and thinner than the original model and is a pistol. A .45 slider in a compact frame feels fine to me. Aside from being chambered in .45 ACP, the Glock 30S is probably my favorite pistol of all time.
The first and last reason to consider a Glock pistol of any kind is simplicity and reliability. There is no simpler and more reliable pistol on earth than the Glock. The G30S, on the other hand, is for concealment, a scaled-down version of the Glock 21 duty pistol. So you might consider the G30S, as it's easy to hide (it's slightly smaller than the G19).
